Puresol Spa

During our stay at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, my wife and I played 36 holes of golf, hiked some trails up the rolling hills, and rode bikes. After two days, I was tired, sore, and ready for a massage at PuresolSpa & Salt Cave, located across the yard from our resort room. On the last morning, we walked into the boutique-style spa where the friendly staff warmly greeted us. They seemed genuinely happy to see us and quickly ushered me into a well-appointed men’s room (with a shower, alkaline lemon water, lockers, and restrooms) and given a nice warm robe and slippers.

Within minutes after putting on my comfy robe, I met my masseuse Elan. She shook my hand with a grip that almost hurt. I knew immediately that I was in for a treat!

Seconds later, I lay flat on my tummy on a heated massage table covered with some warm blankets. And then the soothing and relaxing background music kicked in. They played classical music with pianos, flutes, and stringed instruments, plus the sounds of nature with waves and rain. This experience could get addictive!

My Massage at PuresolSpa

I was about to doze off when Elan stepped in, made sure I was comfortable, and started a heavenly 50-minute head-to-toe deep-tissue massage. After 30 minutes or so, just before he asked me to roll over on my back, I got a warm towel on my back and feet. Then two strong hands massaged my head, shoulders, legs, and feet using heated lotion. Wow! I didn’t want it to end.

Throughout the massage, the massage room smelled good. Deep Blue by DoTerra emits a strong menthol smell that opened my sinuses. Of course, the body lotions, oils, and body butter Elan used smelled good too!.

I made a note to myself to stop on the way out and buy some of the oils and lotions. Of course, I hoped I could convince my wife to use them on me.

As Elan worked the knots and kinks out of my body, and followed that with a soothing massage, I’m sure I dozed off. I tried hard to stay awake so I would enjoy the experience. I wonder if I snored?

All too soon, Elan’s hands left my body and she said, “Feel free to lie here and relax.” I was so relaxed and rejuvenated that, when I got off the massage table and tried to stand up, I felt like a puppet whose strings had just been cut. I was ready to crumple into a pile on the floor!

That was a fantastic massage and probably the best experience I’ve ever had. It made me ready to sign up for another session, but we needed to move on to our next adventure.

HydraFacial Treatment

Mrs. Texas Outside got a HydraFacial Treatment at PuresolSpa. Here are her comments:

Wow! What an amazing facial experience I had with Paige. I’ve had facials before, but, as I told Paige, I had never had one that involved both heat wraps as well as cold wraps and cold stones.

I have to say the cold treatment was my favorite. It was part of their Signature European Facial, which restores the skin to its optimal health.

Before the heat and cold treatments, Paige did appropriate cleansing and exfoliation and then the relaxing skin care treatments that made my skin feel softer and smoother. My dry skin appreciated all the wonderful moisturizing products used by PuresolSpa.

The HydraFacial is a new breakthrough in skin resurfacing technology offered by PuresolSpa. The ability to moisturize the skin separates the HydraFacial from all other skin resurfacing procedures. The HydraFacial treatment removes dead skin, moisturizing serums including Vortex-Fusion of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating, and immediately effective. I have no idea what that means, but Mrs. Texas Outside loved her treatment!

The Salt Cave

After I regained some strength, I put the robe back on and the staff escorted into the Salt Cave to observe my wife in a very relaxed state.

The Salt Cave is a cave-like structure with 25 tons of pure salt harvested from a salt mine in Poland. It also includes comfortable spa loungers and a perfect 60-degree temperature that optimizes the saturation of salt in the air. The stalactites on the ceiling with starry lights gave it a sense of authenticity. And there’s a fountain with the comforting sound of trickling water with soothing music.

After escorting me into the room, Elan said:

Relax, enjoy, and take a nap if you like. I’ll be back to get you in 45 minutes.

This time, I was pretty sure I dozed off!

What a refreshing experience. You literally emerge not only more relaxed and tension-free, but healthier.

History of PuresolSpa and Salt Cave

PuresolSpa

The history of the PuresolSpa and Salt Cave starts in Poland, home to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Visitors of the mine seek treatment in rehabilitation rooms for the treatment of respiratory illnesses, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, heart and cardio-vascular diseases, stress reduction, and more.

The 2013 opening of the PursolSpa and Salt Cave made the dream of an American-based salt cave a reality. Owners used 25 tons of salt harvested from the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The climate within the cave is rich in negative ions, minerals, and micro-elementary particles like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and many others. These particles are naturally absorbed into the lungs as you breathe, improving the intake and supply of important elements necessary for good health, performance, and overall fitness for all ages. Research has proven the therapeutic values of salt caves and their positive influence in the treatment of such ailments and diseases as:

  • Respiratory illnesses
  • Insufficient circulation of blood
  • Asthma and bronchial tube inflammation
  • Post-heart attack conditions
  • Chronic obstructive bronchitis
  • Digestive system illnesses
  • And lots more

Vichy Showers

Vichy Shower at Tapatio Springs

The Vichy Shower Bed is another unique element to the PuresolSpa. In fact, it is the only one in the United States.

The Vichy Shower is an excellent muscle relaxer. An effortless body shower after a therapeutic massage and various body treatments will do you wonders. Vichy Showers increase your blood circulation, detoxify your body, hydrate your skin, and relax your muscles.

Simply speaking, the Vichy consists of high-atomising mist shower that saturates and drenches the body with 29 jets, washing off the residue from body masque and effectively infusing and enhancing the treatment results. I’m not sure how it really works (talk to PuresolsSa to learn more), but it sure looks interesting and they told us that it’s a fantastic new treatment.
