When TexasOutside.com was registered in 1997 with the goal of sharing fun things to do in Texas, it was but a dream to become the leader in outdoors information and inspiration across the Lone Star State.

Since then, we have grown and changed with the internet, and created thousands of pages of content. From dial-up connections to the iPhone revolution, we have continued to innovate in order to bring fresh and useful articles, reviews and business listings so that you can find your own fun in the great Texas outdoors.

In 2021, Texas Outside joined forces with LakeHub, the largest lake-only media group in the state. With a massive network of popular lake websites such as LakeTexoma.com, LakeLBJ.com and CedarCreekLake.com, LakeHub has a passionate audience that enjoys the outdoors – making it a perfect fit to grow along side Texas Outside.

During that merger, we also took the opportunity to clarify our mission as an organization, and have come up with our “true north” to lead us into the future: We help people have fun by sharing the joy of Texas.

1997 - 2022

Whether it’s a small-town festival in East Texas, corny dogs at the State Fair, hiking a mountain in Big Bend, floating a river in Hill Country or chasing redfish on the Gulf Coast, we aim to be there for you providing timely and useful info for you to plan your next trip. Traveling our diverse and eclectic state is so good for making memories, getting refreshed and having fun. There really isn’t any other place quite like Texas!

This year our team has worked tirelessly to create a brand new experience on TexasOutside.com. Now Texas Outside has a fresh look and functionality, with a new home page, format and a reorganized menu system to get you where you need to go (and get there faster). We are now equipped with powerful search features that allow you to explore regions, cities and specific business reviews and listings.

Our passion for spending time outside in our great state is what fuels the Texas Outside team to continue to improve your experience as a reader and fellow adventurer.

If you have any comments to share about our new online experience, please reach out and leave a note on our Contact page. If you own or run a business and want to advertise with Texas Outside, we are rolling out some fantastic new opportunities.

Get outside, y’all!
