Fredericksburg – Fun in Fredericksburg – Fredericksburg is loaded with fun things to do some of which include climbing “The Rock,” golfing, music festivals, museums, biergardens and 30 wineries to visit, and more
Fredericksburg – Wine, Music, Camping, and Good Food – how can you beat all of that packed into three great days of listening to a variety of musicians, sampling lots of wine at different wineries, stuffing our faces with some excellent food, and trying to sleep it off in three different Fredericksburg RV parks.
Glen Rose – A Fun Weekend in Glen Rose – we enjoyed some unique cabins and animals at Country Woods Inn plus golf, good restaurants, dinosaurs, and more
Guadalupe River – Rockin’, Rollin’, and Ridin’ the River – spend a weekend tubing the beautiful Guadalupe River and then taking in some of the best country bands in Texas at two of Texas Outside’s favorite venues
Guadalupe River – Fun on the Guadalupe River – 5 days camping, enjoying the Guadalupe River, boating on Canyon Lake, and more
Hill Country Weekend – Mudder, Golf, & a Yurt – a good time watching the daughters run a 10 mile19 obstacle mudder, playing golf, and an overnight stay in a tree house yurt
Hill Country Vacation – Vacation in the Hill Country – a fun trip golfin’, tubin’, singin’, dancin’, partyin’, campin’, and more
Hunt – Spring Break at Mo Ranch – wow, what a fantastic place with unique lodging, the Guadalupe River, and lots of fun and thrilling things to do
Johnson City – A Fun Stay at Ranch 3232 – Ranch 3232 is a new eclectic experience with glamping tents, RV sites, cozy casitas, and a fully furnished cabin
Kerrville – A Fun Escape From COVID-19 – our first big outing since COVID-19 and we had a blast camping, golfing, biking, and enjoying the first music festival of the year
Kingbury – Tent Camping at Blue River Camp – a very cool setting for glamping, swimming or tubing or fishing in the San Marcos River, and spending the day in a two story tiki cabana a few yards from the River
Lake LBJ – Horseshoe Bay Fun Weekend – we had a blast in Horseshoe Bay that included golf, lots of dominos, live Beatles & Elton John music, and more!
Lake Travis – Lake Travis Wet & Wild Weekend – enjoy a fun weekend one of the best lakes in Texas
New Braunfels – A Weekend of Golf, Music, Food, & Beer – what a great time golfing at The Bandit, enjoying some New Braunfels restaurants and bars, and fun filled day at Wurstfest
New Braunfels – Camels, Caverns, Crochet, and a stay at T Bar M Resort – a great time enjoying a cave and safari tour, some good golf, and lots of games at T Bar M Resort
Round Rock – Take Me Out To The Ball Game – grab the kids, some good friends, your church/social group, or some business associates and treat them (or share) to the cost at a ball game complete with your special area, food and drinks, playground or pool, and more at the fantastic Dell Diamond Ballpark group outing facilities.
Salado – Shopping and Sleeping in Salado – the Village of Salado is a shoppers paradise with quaint antique shops, art galleries, good golf, and more plus it has some fabulous B&Bs and other things to see and do.
San Marcos & New Braunfels – Golfing, Camping, Bar Hopping, and More Fun – we had a blast playing a couple golf courses, bar hopping and listening to some music, camping on the Guadalupe, and enjoying some good food
Seguin – A Fun Weekend On A Tropical Texas Island – when we crossed the wooded bridge and drove onto Son’s Island, we felt like we had escaped Texas to a topical island on Guadalupe River with thatched roof cabanas, hammocks, and palms swaying in the breeze
Spicewood – A Fun Weekend in Spicewood – two rounds of golf, live music at two different places, camping, good food, and a dip in Krause Springs made this a fun weekend
Spicewood – A Glamping, Golfing, and Music Weekend – we had an enjoyable glamping experience staying in a renovated Airstream, playing golf on two different golf courses, and listening to some music
Uvalde – A Fantastic Visit to Ox Ranch – wow, this 18,000 acre ranch is filled with fun things to do, some of which include: hunting, fishing, ATV tours, caving, gourmet dining, feeding the animals, jet ski racing, and much more
Wimberley – Wine, Rum, Beer, Music, and More in Wimberley – a fun couple days attending a music festival, playing a round of golf, some shopping, and sipping some wine, rum, and craft beer in and around Wimberley
North Texas Weekend Adventures
Burleson Area – Busy In Burleson – stay in some very upscale and unique cottages while you explore Burleson and the surrounding area, sip some wine, take in some music, play golf, or just relax by the pool.
Dallas – A Sports Filled Weekend – baby sitting the grandkids included playing 36 holes of golf (while they were at school), watching their soccer, baseball, and volleyball games, plus an evening at Topgolf and a round of 6 holes of golf on a par 3 course
Fort Worth – Frolicking in Fort Worth – pack the car or load the RV, we are going to spend the weekend in Fort Worth, then explore the city, cultural district, and the zoo by bike.
Glen Rose – Walking with the Dinosaurs & More – a weekend of music, golf, a stay in a cozy cabin, a walk with the dinosaurs, and some good grub
Granbury – Goofing Around In Granbury – try to time this weekend adventure with a special event in Granbury and you’ll have a fun filled weekend exploring the quaint town of Granbury
Lake Lewisville – Wet & Wild Weekend – pack up your bathing suit and your adventurous spirit ‘cuz you’re going to get wet as you enjoy this fun weekend boating, parasailing, partying, and more.
Scurry – Romantic Zip & Stay Getaway – located just 30 minutes southeast of Dallas, Cedar Mountain Lodge offers an upscale and fun zip line tour where you can zip into your overnight rustic elegant lodging in a tree house 20 feet off the ground
East Texas Weekend Adventures

South East Texas Weekend Adventures
Montgomery – Texas Renaissance Festival – you’ve got to add this fun annual festival to your list of “Gotta Do This Once” events-unique characters in costume, variety of food and beverage, plenty of over 200 performances a day, games of skill, kids activities, andlots more in a 16th century village.
Cat Spring – A Romantic Getaway – we had a great time celebrating our anniversary at Blisswood B&B in Cat Springs
Galveston – A Fun Time at Galveston Mardi Gras – if you can’t have fun a Mardi Gras, something is wrong – colorful floats, 3 million beads to gather, music, food and drink, interesting and lively crowd
Lake Conroe – La Torretta Lake Resort & Golfing – a fun three days at La Torretta Lake Resort and playing three outstanding golf courses in the area
La Torretta is closed in 2019 and will reopen in 2020 as Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe
South Texas Weekend Adventures
Corpus Christi – Cruisin’ in Corpus – grab our surfboard, bike, beach gear, fishing pole, best tourist shirt (hawaiian shirts typically make you look like a good tourist) and a party hat and head to Corpus for a fun weekend
Port Aransas – Playing in Port A is about heading to the beach in Port Aransas for a fun weekend biking, enjoying the nightlife at some funky and lively bars, camping on the beach, golfing at one of the best courses in Texas, fishing, stuffing yourself at any of several good restaurants, and lots more.
San Antonio Area – Camping, Hiking, and Kayaking Weekend – a fun weekend hiking in Government Canyon State Natural Area, kayaking the Colorado River, and camping and kayaking at Guadalupe River State Park
San Antonio – Golf, Helicopter Tour, and Camping – what a great weekend camping in a $10 million luxury RV park, two rounds of golf, a helicopter tour of the sights of San Antonio, and more
San Antonio – Fiesta Time – San Antonio comes alive for 10 days during Fiesta, which is typically held in April. Fiesta is city-wide, fun-filled, multi-cultural, family-oriented celebration that has over 100 different events – parades, festivals, art exhibitions, plenty of parties, golf tournaments, beauty pageants, carnivals, and much more. Fiesta makes for a fun filled weekend adventure.
San Antonio – La Cantera Weekend – a fantastic resort weekend taking advantage of the resorts amenities like the golf courses, pools, tennis courts, spa, exercise room, and excellent food plus side trips to enjoy some of the many fun things that San Antonio has to offer
South Padre Island – South Padre Island New Years Celebration – it’s official, we have declared South Padre Island the “Beach Bar Capital of Texas” – our research was conducted as a part of a fun New Years Eve weekend
Spring Branch – Fun in Spring Branch and San Antonio – we had a blast playing (or trying to play) two great golf courses, devouring some great food and several margaritas, a dip in the Guadalupe River, enjoying some live music, and exploring the very cool Pearl Entertainment District
West Texas & Texas Panhandle Weekend Adventures
Amarillo Weekend Adventure – Playing in The Panhandle Weekend or A Dual Canyon Experience – a fun weekend staying in Starlight Canyon B&B; hiking, biking and enjoying the stunning scenery in Palo Duro canyon; golf at one of the most affordable courses in Texas; and watching or trying to devour a 72 ounce steak!
Big Bend Area – Ten Bits B&B Adventure – a two night stay in a unique B&B with themed guest rooms in a recreated old west town, plus hiking in Big Bend, and an off road 4×4 tour
Laredo – Taking Laredo To The Max – a fun weekend with a charming 4 diamond hotel, a round of golf on one of the best courses in Texas, some outstanding dinners, and more
Ozona – Exploring Ozona – Ozona was a perfect stopping place for us on our way back from El Paso to Austin – we checked out the golf course, visited the Museum and town square, and had the biggest chicken fried steak I’ve ever had.
