Although Dallas had it’s first brewery in 1857, the first biergarten was established in 1881. The first microbrewery (Reinheitsgebot Brewing Company) in the Southwest (and the sixth in the U.S.) started in 1982 when the Dallas City Council approved a zoning law that allowed breweries, wineries, and distilleries to operate within the city limits. Now, if you want to enjoy some craft beer or sample a flight at a brewery, you have over 30 choices in North Texas.
Dallas has caught up with the craft beer craze and is now home to some of the best craft beer and breweries in Texas.
