In fact, the Hill Country with its wine trails of distinct and award winning wineries, each with its own distinctive personality, is now second only to Napa Valley California in production of wines. There are over 30 wineries in the Hill Country for you to enjoy.

Most wineries host tastings of newly released wines, wine and food pairings, seminars, demonstrations, and tours. You might be able also meet some vintners during the tours. Many of the wineries also offer music or music festivals with their tastings. A good example is the Dripping With Taste Wine, Food & Arts Festival in Dripping Springs – held in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Hawk Shadow Winery – Dripping Springs
This is a relaxing escape for friends to gather for picnics on the patio and dinners in the Cellar. Hawk’s Shadow has sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country and a great place to taste their handcrafted Texas wine.
Dry Comal Creek Vineyards – New Braunfels

Solaro Estate Winery – Dripping Springs
Solaro Estate Winery has designed and created a state of the art boutique winery unique in the Texas Hill Country Wine Region. Solaro’s slogan, “The Art of Science” is a motto to live by when crafting world class wine, says Solaro’s Barbara Haderlein.
Hye Meadow Winery – Hye
Hye Meadow Winery marks the genesis of the Texas Hill Country wine experience, set on 62 gorgeous acres amidst a grove of towering oaks. Their mission: to offer a spot to relax with great wine and make you never want to leave. Listen to the breeze through the oaks, or wander to find your perfect picnic spot. North Texas Wineries
Lost Oak Winery — Burleson
In 2006, the estate wine varieties were added to Lost Oak’s repertoire of reds including varieties like Tempranillo and Syrah. They are adding beautiful white varieties like Malvasia Bianca, Chardonel and Blanc du Bois as well.
Paris Vineyards – Paris
They are devoted to handcrafting premium quality wines in the pioneer spirit of Texas from vine varietals that capture distinctive characteristics of the Texas terrier.
Mitas Hill – McKinney
Mitas Hill is a North Texas vineyard, winery and events destination in McKinney – which is nestled into the rolling fields of North Texas where the Clemons Creek meanders lazily lined with beautiful native Texas trees. They proudly offer guests the finest hospitality and the opportunity to savor the experience and art of Texas winemaking.
East Texas Wineries
Tara Vineyard and Winery – Athens
Tara, the oldest winery in Henderson County, is housed in the stately Murchison home now nestled amidst Tara’s vineyards and will soon welcome guests as the Tara Inn. They sell their wines on site and offer tastings and tours. They also have live music on occasion.
True Vine Brewing Company – Tyler
Begining in 2013, this tiny beer factory began with 1.5 barrel system which increased their brewing by 1200% and in the years since they have grown to 10 barrel brew system with more expansion plans for The BackYard at True Vine.
Athens Brewing Company – Athens
Besides brewing many wonderful beers, Athens Brewing Company also has food to choose from while drinking your brews, live music to entertain, a wonderful back area which is dog friendly. Don’t worry if you don’t care for beer they also has selected wines from Tara Winery.
Cedar Creek Brewery – Seven Points
Cedar Creek has tried hard to maintain a family friendly brewery to make everyone happy which includes a variety of board games, Giant Jenga, and corn hole boards. They also have a restaurant in the brewery and a dog friendly area in the Biergarten.
South Texas Wineries
Pleasant Hill Winery – Brenham
The Brenham-grown grape Blanc du Bois in the blue bottle won a silver Reserve Class Champion in the International Division and a Silver Texas Reserve Class Champion.
Bernhardt Winery – Plantersville
Their mission is to provide you with quality wines and a fun wine tasting experience in a warm environment perhaps sitting under the century old native pecan trees.
West Texas Wineries
Cap Rock Winery – Lubbock
Out of the flatness of the Texas High Plains rises one of the most beautiful wine making facilities in the country where you can enjoy their Palo Duro Canyon White to the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Llano Estacado Winery – Lubbock
This is the largest premium winery in the state of Texas, producing wines of world class quality, and taking the lead in introducing the entire world to the great wines made in Texas.
Delaney Vineyards – Lamesa
The west Texas region provides a wonderful environment for grape production with its hot days and cool evenings.
McPherson Cellars – Lubbock
The McPhersons have been a pioneering family in grape growing and wine making in Texas for over 40 years and remains one of the state’s prime grape growers and was the first in Texas to plant Sangiovese in their Sagmor Vineyard.
LaDiosa Cellars – Lubbock
An oasis of uniquely simple and sophisticated dining. It is an eclectic, elegant, yet down-to-earth venue that offers a Bistro menu, coffee bar, and a variety of Texas Wines.
Pheasant Ridge Winery – Lubbock
