2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Addison, Texas’ Kaboom Town. Kaboom Town is nationally recognized as one of the most exciting Independence Day celebrations in the U.S. Addison takes up a wee 4.4 square miles, a tiny space squeezed in between far North Dallas and the larger Carrollton. 

In 2024, the big Kaboom happens on July 3. 

Over 500,000 People Expected

Addison supports more restaurants per capita than any other city in the U.S., plus 22 hotels, and a limited-capacity party in the 10-acre Addison Circle Park. Over 200 Addison restaurants hold 4th of July watch parties surrounding this wildly popular 4th of July event. Addison requires a ticket for every guest attending. 

How to Get Tickets

Visitors must have a ticket. Kaboom Town is a limited-ticketed event. While limited onsite ticket sales are available for card payment only, all guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance for quicker and easier admission. 

Wednesday, July 3, 2024: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $10 this year for ages 10+, $5 for kids 2 to 9, and free for kids 2 and younger. Age-appropriate tickets will be verified at the gate. There is a limit of six tickets per party. No coolers are permitted in Addison Circle Park due to public safety. Everything you need to know is on the Addison Kaboom Town tickets website. 

Addison Circle Park and Traffic

Addison Circle Park has an extremely limited capacity during special events, even though it comprises 10 acres. Addison Road, Addison Circle Drive, Quorum Drive, and Festival Way encompass Addison Circle Park and have ample on-street and off-street parking.

Features include a pavilion, restrooms, splash pad and interactive fountain, public display fountains, water features, three stages, a trail, a pergola, and tables, chairs, and benches. Free water refilling stations are available for those who bring a container with them.

Traffic Advisory

The Addison Police Department is on duty for a safe experience and a smooth exit. The popularity of Addison Kaboom Town causes traffic delays. Attendees are encouraged to remain at their viewing location to avoid delays after the show and follow the guidance of Addison police officers. The City of Addison asks guest to be patient and courteous to other Kaboom Town fans.

The Addison Airport Airshow is Incredible

Guests can watch the impressive Addison Airport Airshow from anywhere in town or attend. The air show runs for two hours, and then the fireworks show begins immediately after.

Addison Kaboom Town offers an internationally acclaimed air show the night of Kaboom Town. The Addison Airport Airshow features an awe-inspiring deployment of aerial acts. This air show includes skydivers, historic warbirds, and aerobatic planes. 

July 3 Airshow Lineup, 7:30 p.m.:

  • Red River Skydivers: Kick off the show with a choreographed skydive, featuring a massive American flag.
  • Devil Dog, a B-25 flown by pilot Beth Jenkins and an entirely female crew.
  • A P-40 Warhawk flown by Taylor Stevenson, one of the youngest warbird pilots in the country.
  • Shangrila, a P-51 Mustang flown by Tom Ball.
  • Twin Beech, Beechcraft Model 18.
  • Experimental aircraft Gamebird, flown by its creator Phillip Steinbeck.
  • A collection of T-6s flying in formation.
  • Aerobatic Stunts: Witness spectacular maneuvers by renowned stunt pilots such as Mike Gallaway and David Martin.

Kaboom Town: A Fireworks Spectacle 

Join the celebration anywhere in Addison. Check out the watch parties served up by 200 Addison restaurants. The famous 25-minute-long fireworks show is known as one of the most outstanding in the U.S. The limited-capacity fireworks show in the 10-acre Addison Circle Park treats guests to an unforgettable explosive experience, along with the electrifying Addison Airport Airshow.
