Bastrop State Park (Bastrop, Texas)
Bastrop State Park has recovered from a 2011 wildfire, and now features more than 40 miles of awesome hiking and biking trails.
There are 13 cabins available at the park, with one to four bedrooms that sleep up to 8 people. All cabins include outdoor grills and picnic tables.
Big Bend Ranch State Park (Presidio, Texas)
Big Bend Ranch State Park is home to one of the largest protected areas of Chihuahuan Desert in the United States. The park offers more than 150 miles of hiking trails as well as backcountry camping.
The Historic Sauceda Ranch House has single and double rooms that sleep 2-4 people, and the Sauceda Lodge Bunkhouse sleeps up to 30. The Bunkhouse kitchen is a community kitchen.
Caddo Lake State Park (Karnack, Texas)

Cooper Lake State Park (Cooper, Texas)
Cooper Lake State Park is on Cooper Lake, also called Jim Chapman Lake. The parks’ two units offer camping, fishing, boating and swimming. There is public hunting nearby on the other side of the lake in a wildlife management area.
There are six-person cabins with a picnic table and outdoor grill. Cooper Lake has 12 of these cabins, plus 6 premium shelters that have air conditioning.
Daingerfield State Park (Daingerfield, Texas)
Daingerfield State Park is located in the Piney Woods region of East Texas. The park offers hiking, biking and horseback riding trails as well as a 9-hole golf course.
The park has a Group Lodge which accommodates 15 people (sleeps 13), a 6-person cabin, as well as 2 and 4-person cabins.
Estero Llano Grande State Park (Weslaco, Texas)
Estero Llano Grande State Park is located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
This is all located on a 230 plus acres at the center of World Birding Center which is very popular for bird watching and nature lovers. More than 340 species of birds have been spotted in the park!
Galveston Island State Park (Galveston, Texas)
Galveston Island State Park is located on Galveston Island – a barrier island off the coast of Texas. The park offers camping, swimming, fishing and kayaking.
There is a three-room cabin called the Stewart House Cabin that sleeps up to 10 people. The Park also has Ranch House Cabin which sleeps 6. Both cabins overlook the lake. They also allow up to 2 extra people for an additional fee.
Garner State Park (Concan, Texas)
Garner State Park is located in the Texas Hill Country. The park has plenty camping, hiking, swimming and canoeing options.
There are a total of 17 cabins in this park. There are cabins with and without fireplaces. All of these cabins sleep up to four people.
Hill Country State Natural Area (Bandera, Texas)
Hill Country State Natural Area is located in the Texas Hill Country near Bandera. There are more than 50 miles of hiking and biking trails here, as well as horseback riding trails.
There is a Group Lodge which sleeps 7 or the Equestrian Group Camping Area, known as “Chapas Camp with a Barn”, near a swimming hole.
Lake Brownwood State Park (Lake Brownwood, Texas)
Lake Brownwood State Park is located in Central Texas. The park has camping, swimming, fishing and boat rentals.
Brownwood State Park has choices of 9 different two-person sites, and 7 different four-person sites. The Oak Lodge sleeps four people, Loma Vista Lodge sleeps eight, Fisherman’s Lodge sleeps ten, and the Beach Lodge can sleep up to two dozen people.
Martin Creek Lake State Park (Tatum, Texas)
Located in northeast Texas, Martin Creek Lake State Park offers cabins overlooking Martin Creek Lake. Visitors can enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking, and biking.
This park has two different 4-person cabins, along with two 5-person air conditioned shelters, and 19 screened shelters that sleep up to 8 people each.
Palo Duro Canyon State Park (Canyon, Texas)
Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a legendary place located in the Texas Panhandle and features canyons and mesas. Visitors can stay in one of the park’s cabins or lodges and enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and canoeing.
There are four different 4-person Limited Service Cabins, along with the “Lighthouse Cabin”, “Sorenson Cabin” and “Goodnight Cabin” which each sleep four people.
Palmetto State Park (Gonzales, Texas)
Palmetto State Park is located in southeast Texas near Houston. It features cabins and cottages nestled among the palms and pines. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, bird watching, and picnicking.
This 6-person cabin sits adjacent to the San Marcos River with a path leading down to the river for fishing and swimming.
Possum Kingdom State Park (Caddo, Texas)
