How can you beat a weekend camping at a Texas State Park and playing a round of golf. There are only three Texas State Parks with golf courses and two more have miniature golf or disc golf. However, most State Parks are close to some great golf courses and we’ll include those on this list. Grab the clubs and sleeping bag and head to one of these Texas State Parks with golf.
Texas State Parks with golf courses
Lake Casa Blanca State Park (link goes to Texas Outside’s review) has a golf course next to the park: Casa Blanca Golf Course and one of the best golf courses in the State is close by – Max A Mandel Municipal Golf Course.
Lockhart State Park is home to fishing, hiking, biking, and a swimming pool and a fun nine hole golf that Texas Outside rated a 7.2.
Stephen F. Austin State Park has a great 18 hole golf course just outside the entrance to the Park, Texas Outside rated the Stephen F. Austin Golf Course an 8.5 of 10.
Texas State Parks with golf courses nearby
Mustang Island State Park is close to one of the best nine holes in Texas and the only one in Texas that plays along the beach – Palmilla Beach Golf Course is rated 9.1n – hard to beat camping and golf at the beach.
Bastrop State Park used to have a very fun 18 hole course but it closed – the good news is that there are two other nearby courses – ColoVista and Pine Forest.
Lake Mineral Wells State Park is great for rock climbing and it’s located very close to Holiday Hills Country Club, which Texas Outside rated 7.9.
Big Bend Ranch State Park is close to Texas Outside’s top rated golf course in Texas – Black Jack’s Crossing.
Garner State park, one of the most popular Parks in Texas is a few miles from the Golf Club of Texas Concan.
Bonham State Park is close to Legacy Ridge Country Club and the nine hole Bonham Lake Golf Course.
Galveston Island State Park is close to the 18 hole Moody Gardens Golf Course – rated an 8.7.
Texas State Parks with Disc & Miniature Golf Courses
Garner State Park has it all (fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, picnicking, dancing, and more) including an 18 hole miniature golf course.
Lake Arrowhead has lake swimming and fishing, hiking and biking trails, picnicking, and disc golf.
