My family decided to head to Dripping Springs for four days and someone recommended that we stay at The Alexander At Creek Road. After checking out their website, reading some reviews, and seeing their motto, we called and booked a two-day stay. We loved it. The owners are great folks, and the lodging is unique, clean, and comfortable. It seems like you’re isolated in the country due to the dark star-filled skies along with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Yet, it’s peaceful and quiet, and it’s easy to get to the restaurants, wineries, breweries, and other things to see and do in Dripping Springs.
By the way, if you wondering about that motto, it’s …

A Beautiful Welcome at The Alexander At Creek Road
The Alexander at Creek Road is located on 40 gentle rolling acres of beautiful ranch land about 7 miles west of downtown Dripping Springs. When you go, make sure you take Creek Road to or from Dripping Springs at least once. It’s a beautiful and scenic drive along the creek as you drive past ranches and pastures. When driving through the gate into The Alexander at Creek Road, you’ll notice an amazing metal sculpture of a wild stallion followed by a wooden water tower and a small pond. The entire property is littered with majestic, sprawling ancient oak trees. You’ll sense you’re in for a special treat – and you won’t be disappointed!
Lodging Options At The Alexander At Creek Road
The lodging options at The Alexander At Creek Road impressed us. When we looked at their website, it was hard deciding which of the charming and unique options to book. Choices included:
- Live Oak Lodge with rustic, western charm. This lodge includes a king bed plus a coffee bar, microwave, small fridge, and a great sitting area with a sofa and cowhide chair. It sleeps two to four guests.
- Creek Road Cottage. Elegant and cozy with an electric fireplace. With new and antique furnishings, it sleeps two.
- Treehouse Complex with four treehouse cottages. The cottages can sleep up to twelve guests.
- Guest Quarters. A luxury “hotel” room at the end of the main house, this beauty has its own entrance. Plus, there’s a great view of the pond. The guest quarters also feature a premium king bed, hardwood floors, and antique furnishings.
- Lucky Star Cabin sleeps four to six. This “modern farmhouse” features a great porch, two premium queen beds, banquette dining, and a sitting area. You’ll love the kitchenette with a microwave, mid-fridge, bar sink, and other necessities like glasses, plates, flatware, & more.
- Country House. This little vintage country French farmhouse comes with three bedrooms and three full baths. Featuring indoor and outdoor living and dining areas, multiple big TVs, electric fireplace, and a fully-equipped kitchen, it sleeps up to ten guests.
Staying At the Mack Treehouse Suite
Upon arrival at The Alexander at Creek Road, we met the owners Matt and Michelle. They are two of the nicest people you’ll every meet and are committed to making sure you have an enjoyable stay.
Matt and Michelle gave us a tour of the various lodging options. They were well appointed, cozy, clean, and unique. Superb! Of course, when shown the treehouse complex and its four cottages, supported by a massive sprawling oak tree, we knew we wanted to stay in one of those. We looked at all four Treehouse Suites, but as soon as we stepped into the Mack Treehouse Suite, we immediately fell in love with it.
The Mack is at the highest Treehouse level, and you walk up two flights of stairs, pass through a very cool deck, and mosey down a small walkway to get to the front door.
The first thing that grabbed me upon opening the door was the stunning view of the pasture and a huge branch of the tree that supports the suites and the deck. The windows did a fantastic job of letting the outside in. The Mack was compact but really cool and comfortable thanks to a country-comfort feeling with a fun use of colors and accents. Plus, the shiplap wood walls, raised white washed beamed ceiling, and wood flooring throughout make it visually appealing. Amenities include:
- Two comfortable double queen beds with a common night stand, lamp, and mini fridge below;
- A bathroom with a toilet, a shower, and soft colorful bath towels;
- A small table with a Keurig coffee pot, hanging coffee cups, and coffee fixings;
- A sink with a mirror and curling iron, iron, and colorful towels;
- Two small, comfortable chairs and a colorful ottoman facing a TV;
- Wi-fi
We spent several hours on the deck, which features a huge tree growing out of the middle of it. Plus, two benches make it cozy and comfortable. It’s perfect for coffee, cool breezes, birds chirping, and beautiful sunrises in the morning.
We returned to the suite one night and couldn’t resist a final night cap on the deck. Amazed at the sky full of twinkling stars the quietness of it, we stood out for awhile. Well, it was quiet except for the crickets chirping, an owl hooting, and an occasional moo from a cow. The deck tempted me to move our bed outside below the stars! Below the deck was a sitting area with chairs, a dart board, and a gas BBQ grill.
