Golf at Margaritaville Lake Resort Conroe and the Conroe Area

The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort is a Jeffery Blume designed 18 hole championship course with a great layout that meanders through tall pines. During your round you’ll face challenging doglegs, some tight fairways, water on 10 holes, 59 soft sand bunkers, and challenging green complexes. The course is home to a pro shop, cafe, putting green, and driving range and it’s walking distance from the resort lodging. The course is fun, fair, and reasonably priced. The Conroe area is a great golf destination – within 25 minutes of Margaritaville Lake Resort there are over 16 public courses and several excellent private courses (for example, Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club – which we rated 9.8 out of 10 – and Tiger Woods’ Bluejack National). Margaritaville Lake Resort Golf Stay & Play Accommodations

The accommodations at Margaritaville Lake Resort are some of the best of any resort that we have stayed at in Texas. The 20 story tower is home to 330 luxurious all-suite accommodations, all of which have a fabulous lake view. The suites are furnished with a light and airy color palette inspired by the colors of the lake, sand and sky plus each room has paintings and pictures of parrots, boats, sandy beaches and/or swaying palm trees – making me feel like I was on vacation in the Caribbean!

Each suite is over over 600 square feet with a large bedroom, living room with a sleeper sofa, huge bathroom with a glass rain shower and separate bathtub, and a private balcony or patio overlooking the lake. Each room in the suite has a 55″ flat screen TV and framed pictures. The furniture is upscale, the living area has a large desk/workstation, sleeper sofa, coffee table, Keurig coffee maker, safe, and mini fridge . The rooms are oversized, comfortable, and uniquely Margaritaville.

Sprinkled along the shoreline of Lake Conroe are 32 cool lake cottages which are great for a family or group of golfers. The pastel colors of the cottages (blue, orange, green, turquoise) offer a refreshing island vibe and the front porch of the cottage is superb to view Lake Conroe’s sunrises and sunsets. Eleven of the cottages have a king bed in a separate bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room and the other 21 cottages are one bedroom plus a loft with two full size beds. Some of the cottages have boat slips in front of them, each cottage has it’s own space, and cottage guest have access to all of the resort amenities, which are a couple minutes walk away.

Fun Things To Do at Margaritaville Lake Resort

When you’re not golfing, you’ll find lots of fun things to do during your stay. Margaritaville Lake Resort offers something for everyone to do – from toddlers to seniors. And all of the activities are onsite and an easy to walk to from your suite in the resort tower or lake cottages.

Some of the amenities that you can enjoy include:

• the St. Somewhere Spa which offers a variety of treatments plus a hot tub, steam room, Turkish scrub room, Turkish Haman room (similar to a Scandinavian sauna or a Roman bath), and a float bath room and a 3 hole putting green

• Jolly Mon will keep you (and the kids entertained for hours with it’s three acres of fun with a lazy river, a pool with big water slides, a hot tub, a splash zone with a playscape, plus another splash zone for toddlers – grab a frozen Margarita and hit the lazy river

Margaritaville Lake Resort is located on 186 waterfront acres on the shores of Lake Conroe. If you like boating and lake type activities (boarding, fishing, cruising, swimming, bar hopping) you’ll love Lake Conroe! Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe opened in June of 2020 and the resort is Inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter and best-selling author Jimmy Buffett. Everywhere you go you’ll hear Jimmy’s singing in the background, see lyrics and snippets from his songs, and enjoy the shade of over 150 palm trees swaying in the lake breeze. You can sip frozen drinks at the It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere swim-up pool bar, sit on a bar stool under a thatched umbrella or relax in a hammock at Toes in the Sand on the edge of Lake Conroe. The Jimmy Buffett music playing throughout the resort will quickly get you into a laid back Caribbean island vibe! It doesn’t take long to fell the stress evaporate. We quickly understood why Margaritaville Lake Resort’s motto is “the perfect blend of lake latitude and island attitude” and how the resort lives up to the words of Jimmy’s “license to chill:“

As soon as saw the resort logo and entered the resort doors, heard Jimmy Buffett singing in the background, and saw the huge flip flop and pop top, colorful flowers, tropical pictures of parrots, sailing, and beaches, we immediacy felt the island vibe and knew that we were in for a good time. Contributing to the laid back fun vibe was the Margaritaville Lake Resort staff – all of whom we found attentive, enthusiastic about their job and the resort, and very friendly and outgoing. In fact, when we walked in to register, one of the registration staff had stepped out from behind her desk and was dancing to one of Buffett’s songs, waving and shaking to the music, and warmly greeting us.
