Here are some additional pictures from the 2019 Old Settler’s Music Festival – what a great time. The music line-up was excellent, the food vendors were great, and the camping and the fans are always fun.
Up and Coming New Music Fans at Old Settler’s Music Festival
Old Settler’s Music Festival has a friendly, respectful, and lively vibe that you won’t find at any other Texas Music Festival. It’s a very family friendly event and the kids seem to be having as much fun as the adults. Some love the music, others love playing with old and new friends, and all seem to enjoy all of the kids activities.
While the kids are off having fun, the parents are listening to some excellent music, socializing with friends, and enjoying the vendors and vibe at Old Settler’s.
Old Settler’s Music Stages
There are four stages at Old Settler’s. The main stage is sponsored by Blacks BBQ in Lockhart and it’s huge and faces a large open field surrounded with vendors along one perimeter. Fans bring blankets and lawn chairs and the front of the stage is typically shoulder to shoulder with fans who want to get up close to the artists. The acoustics are excellent.
The Bluebonnet Stage is a two minute walk around the corner from the main stage. This stage is smaller and more intimate with lots of room to spread out and enjoy the sun or stars and music.
Camp Shhh Times stage is for late night music for the campers. The music typically starts shortly after the last band ends on the main stage – around 1 AM. This stage is small and intimate and surrounded by trees and just up a small hill from the main stage area.
The Campground Stage is our favorite because it small and intimate and set under the trees. The stage is at one end of the campground and just outside the entrance to the main stage. Artist’s and Old Settler’s merchandise is available and beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased or you can BYOB. Several vendors sell merchandise and some tasty food in back of the stage. Music is typically on Thursday afternoon from 4 to midnight and Sunday from 11 to 6 or so. At night the trees are lit with colorful lights.
Camping At Old Settler’s Music Festival
Camping is the only way to go when you attend Old Settler’s Music Festival. Fans start showing up on Saturday and Sunday before the festival starts to get a good campsite. By Friday it’s shoulder to shoulder tents, motorhomes, and anything else that’s suitable for sleeping – hammocks, cots, air mattresses, couches, the back of pickups and even a boat!
Several groups of campers who have been attending Old Settler’s for multiple years have named their group. And each year the camp grows as new campers join the circle of friends and family. Some of these sites can get pretty elaborate with large well equipped kitchens, some furniture, hammocks, colorful blankets, and more.
