Review and Rating of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Camp Resort Hill Country – Canyon Lake, TX
Wow, what a spectacular park that’s perfect for young families looking for a getaway loaded with lots of fun things to see and do as well as seasonal events and activities for the kids. Jellystone Hill Country has a wide variety of sites for tents or RVs as well as several cabins that sleep 4 to 16 people.
The Resort is a block off of FM 306 which means you have excellent access to exploring the area (Greune, New Braunfels, Blanco, Canyon Lake, San Antonio, and more) and several fun things to do ranging from caves to zip lines.
The Jellystone Hill Country Resort is nestled under lots of trees on 27 acres of gently rolling hill country terrain. The roads are paved throughout the Resort and wide enough for big rigs to easily get into a site. Unlike other RV parks, Jellystone only allows extended stays for monthly renters, full-timers, or winter Texans from November to February.
The Resort is very clean and well maintained and safe with a gated entrance. The staff is experienced, knowledgable about the area, and out to make sure that you have an enjoyable stay. And your pet can enjoy a pet friendly campsite or cabin.

We visited Jellystone Park in early April for the first time and we enjoyed a round of disc golf, a stay in one of the Hill Country Cabins, a golf cart rental to check out the park, and a dip in the indoor pool and hot tub.
We had a good lunch at Baja BBQ Shack overlooking a marina (which has boat rentals) on Canyon Lake, a pretty good dinner at Silver Sage, a delicious breakfast at Granny D's, and a wonderful lunch at Wildflower in Sadler.
We love the Canyon Lake area and visited the area several times for live music at White Water Amphitheater, tubing and enjoying the Guadalupe, boating and enjoying Canyon Lake, golf at Canyon Lake Golf Course (read our review of Canyon Lake Golf Course), dining at several good restaurants, and checking out the local fun bars.
As I mentioned one of the reasons we love Jellystone Hill Country is because it's located close to lots of fun things to see and do. Some of our favorites include:
- a visit to Gruene for good food and live music at one of the oldest dance halls in Texas
- golf at some nearby golf courses - check out this Canyon Lake Area Golf Course Map to find a nearby course and read our review to learn more about the course
- we love a day on the water on Canyon Lake - read Texas Outside's review of Canyon Lake
- New Braunfels is loaded with good restaurants and fun bars and a great golf courses, Natural Bridge Caverns, and Natural Bridge Wildlife Park
- San Antonio is 50 minutes south and it has everything you can image - golf courses to zip lines to Sea World and the River Walk and lots more
