Hickory Creek Park is a very clean and well-maintained Corp of Engineer park on Lake Lewisville (read the review of Lake Lewisville) with 124 water and electricity (some 50 amp) and 10 primitive sites plus a group shelter and camping area. Most of the sites have water/electricity, are level, spacious, well treed, and have a view of the water.
The majority of Hickory Creek is along the north shore of Lake Lewisville and a small cove and as such, there is good access to the water.
The park has wide boat ramps with plenty of trailer parking, a single dump station, a roped in swim area with a beach and change house, and clean restrooms and showers.
If you have a boat, click here to see the things to do on Lake Lewisville which include a party cove, disc golf course, a nine hole golf course, cruising, and a couple restaurants with good food and music. A typical day on Lewisville with a boat includes: cruising by some nice homes a little west of Hickory Creek, skiing/boarding/tubing if the water is smooth, heading over to join the crowd at the party cove, then appetizers or dinner and some music at Wet Bar & Grill or Sneaky Pete's.
If you don't have a boat, this park is good for some pure camping and chillin' in your campsite. It's a good campground to get to know your neighbors or your kids or best friend, play some camping games, and barbecue some tasty grub.
It's a great place to camp to explore Denton, Ft Worth, Lewisville, or Dallas - all of which have lots to see and do.
