Review and Rating of Blue River Camp in Kingsbury, Texas
If you're looking for a fun and unique glamping experience then you need to check out Blue River Camp. Glamping is the new fad and it means glorious or luxury camping – to me, it means camping without the pain of having to set up a tent, sleep on an air mattress that leaks, and not have any water or electricity.
Blue River Camp has tents for overnight rental, a couple cabins to rent, and some really cool tiki cabanas on the San Marcos River, and several amenites, including the San Marcos River for tubing, fishing, swimming, or just relaxing.
During our visit, our typical day was started by driving into nearby Kingsbury (less than 5 minutes) for a big breakfast. Breakfast was followed by:
swimming and playing in the San Marcos River
some dominos and cards
a lively volleyball game
relaxing in the hammock
grilling burgers on the Webber
After dinner in Kingsbury, we would play games and roast marshmallows around the firepit. Then a good night's sleep in the tent followed by a beautiful sunrise with the wind rustling the leaves and birds singing.
When we visited we didn't have time or any desire to explore any nearby activities.
