We understand that Z Boaz Golf Course was closed and converted into a 138 acre community park!!!
Z Boaz is a municipal course owned by the city of Ft Worth and was built in 1930. When we played in May 2007 the course had been recently aerated and it was hard to really judge the true condition of the greens and fairways. Based on what we saw fairways would normally be in below average condition.
Z Boaz is pretty open and there are not a lot of hazards to cause you much trouble. The only traps were on each side of the greens and easy to avoid. The greens were of average size with minor slope and not that difficult to read.
Fairways are tree-lined, somewhat tight and the majority of the holes are straight. In most cases you can see the flag from the tee box. So if you can hit it straight you will have no problem scoring well on this short par 70 course. The clubhouse, course and equipment are showing signs of age and all could use an upgrade.
