Review of Topgolf Austin
Billed as Austin's largest sports bar, Topgolf is 65,000 square feet of fun in addition to being a three tier indoor driving range. What separates Topgolf from any other driving range is that:
- it's covered and cool, thanks to misters and fans, even when it's 100 degrees out
- your golf bay has a TV, table and chairs, food and drink service, and some clubs you can use
- it's fun as you try to hit golf balls (with an embedded microchip) that are assigned to you into one of ten dart board type targets
- there is a restaurant, putting green, free pool tables, live music, and excellent service
Within your golf bay is a computer that allows you to pick any one of six games and it will then keep track of your individual score (based on the game, hitting distance, and how close your come to the center of the target) as well as your opponents score. The games range from TopScore (the farther the target you hit and the closer you get to the center flag, the more points you’ll receive) to TopDrive where the goal is to hit the center of the farthest target. And if you loose the bet, your wait staff is eagerly waiting to serve the next round of drinks on your credit card. No more waiting for the cart lady to show up or for the 19th hole!
Some of the other things that separate Topgolf from a driving range and even a sports bar include:
- a restaurant that serves some good food made from scratch and it can be delivered to your golf bay if you like
- 320 flat screens plus free pool tables, shuffleboard, and foosball
- an outdoor bar and patio with a dance floor and live music or a DJ on the weekends
- a six hole putting green
- meeting space for special events
Topgolf is fun for everyone from hackers to first timers to scratch golfers and young kids to seniors! Read why we like Topgolf based on a recent visit.

Service is excellent, the food is great, and putting green can help your putting skills. Lessons from a golf pro are available.
