Profile
Built on 210 acres overlooking the ‘gateway’ to Cedar Creek Lake, King’s Creek is a pleasant surprise about 60 miles south east of Dallas. This 6507 yard par 71 offers an enjoyable and fun round of golf at a very affordable price. Their special offer to Texas Outside visitors, makes this course a real bargain.
The course is build around a series of ponds, which means that you’ll find water on all but one hole. Even with all that water, the course is still very playable and fair. The front nine is really fun and has a little bit of everything that we enjoy at a course – scenic beauty, doglegs, gentle rolling hills, and some enjoyable and challenging holes. A couple holes require some strategy if you want a birdie or par. The back nine is also fun but it seemed a little more open and forgiving.
We were pleasantly surprised with the condition of the greens and fairways – both were in very good shape. The 14 bunkers need some work, so you need to make every effort to try to avoid them. Overall the course is well maintained and manicured. The greens were in very good condition, a little smaller than normal, and most had a gentle slope back to the fairway. They seemed to hold the ball well and the speed was about normal.
King’s Creek prides itself on service and we found the staff to be very attentive, friendly, and out to make sure your round was enjoyable. The cart lady seemed to always show up at the right time, and better yet, she offered ice cold scented towels – badly needed and very refreshing when it is 100 degrees! After using one of the towels, you’re refreshed and ready to par the next hole. King’s Creek is worth playing and it’s a great bargain at the current rates.

Service is very good, burgers are great, 19th hole is a full bar, and the scented cold towels are the best!
