Indian Creek has 36 holes of great golf at very reasonable prices, particularly if you are a Carrollton resident or can find a coupon. The Creeks Course was built in 1984 and redesigned and renovated by Jeff Brauer in 1999. The course is consistently rated as one of the "Best Mid-Priced" and "Best City Owned" courses in Texas.
The course fairways meander through thousands of trees, across Indian Creek, and along the Trinity River. The fairways are wide, rolling, loaded with berms, and in very good condition. The approach shots and greens will test the best golfers. The greens are well protected and challenging to hit due to some narrow approaches, the shape of the green, water or trees, or the steep faced bunkers with soft fluffy sand. The green sizes vary from huge to oblong and all have some dramatic slope and undulation – pin placement can be a killer on some holes. We found the greens fast, in excellent condition, and requiring a lot of study due to the slope and undulation.
In addition to its great value, scenic beauty, and good condition, the Creeks Course offers lots of dog legs and variety, water on most of the holes, split fairways, some risk/reward shots, and some of the most challenging greens in town. This is a very fun course to play. The bad news is that it is also very popular, so the pace of play can be very slow – but don't let that stop you from playing the Creeks Course.
