In 2006 the Dallas Morning News rated Fossil Creek as #16 in their Top 25 Best Daily Fee courses. Fossil Creek is a great course with lots of: water (14 holes, which can cause a lot of trouble); creeks and ravines to cross; hazards including sand; variety and doglegs (13); rolling hills with minor elevation changes; and tricky greens – now that's what makes a course fun, challenging, yet fair!
You may want to leave your driver at home on this relatively short course that requires excellent club selection and course management. Although the course is not real narrow, if you get in the rough you will have some more trouble. Did all of that scare you away, I hope not because if you play this course I know you will really like it. Fossil Creek is very pretty, in good condition, and very reasonable. In the November 2003 issue, Avid Golfer rated the Golf Club at Fossil Creek number 1 of the Best Golf Club with green fees of $40 to $60 and #1 of the best Bermuda greens
