Profile
Cocopah RV & Golf Course is home to an 18 hole, par 73 golf course that winds through the RV resort. The golf course has three sets of tee boxes with yardages ranging from 5300 to 5719 yards and a rating of 102 to 116 – which means that the course is very playable for all skill levels. The forward tees are 5300 yards with a rating of 116 – a little long and challenging for most women. In fact, pick the right set of tee boxes, keep the ball in the fairway, and you may be able to start bragging about all the birdies and collect your bets at the Cocopah Cantina.
The 18 holes play through the RV park and a majority of the fairways are lined with motor homes or park models. Holes six to ten head out of the park and toward the banks of the Colorado River and rich and fertile farm land. If you can overlook the park models and RVs, you'll see some majestic mountains, trees, and mesas. #17 and #18 are away from the RV sites and 18 plays along the Colorado River bank.
The front nine is very straightforward and gives you an opportunity to turn in a very good score if you can keep the ball in the fairway. The back is a little more interesting with water that can come into play on five holes, a couple dog legs, a forced carry over the lake, a risk reward opportunity to try and fly the trees for a birdie, and some tighter fairways.
The fairways are flat (making Cocopah a great walking course) and from the tee box you can see the pin and what you're up against. A scattering of trees and tall palms line the fairways and most of the fairways are a little narrow, which means you may end up next to a $200,000 motorhome! The fairways were in average condition with some spotty patches.
The greens are mostly oval and flat with minor slope. They seemed a little smaller than normal, most were slightly elevated, and they ran true but a little slow.
The bunkers have good sand and are protecting the greens. Most of them have a very small lip.
There are some fun holes like #18 with a slightly elevated tee box and 520 yards down a tight fairway and #12 a 364 yard par 4 with a carry over a small lake to a dog leg right green.
During the winter season, Cocopah stays very busy and the pace of play can be slow thanks to fivesomes, retirees, and walkers.

The pro shop is very well stocked and the staff is very friendly and outgoing. There is a range, chipping area, and two putting greens for you to warm up on prior to your round. The Cocopah Grill serves a very good cheeseburger at reasonable prices. And the Cantina is the perfect place to settle your bets over a cold beer.
