Profile
Buffalo Run Golf Course is a very open British links style course. It can be played from the tips at 7,411 yds if you're a real big hitter. The course and especially the greens are typically in great shape. By Denver standards Buffalo Run is a real value and especially convenient if you're flying in or out of DIA.
My group elected to play the Blue tees at 6,500 yds as our TX and IL visitors were wearing down after a full week of mountain golf. In hindsight Buffalo Run would have been the perfect course to play to start our Colorado golf tour week. It's only 15 minutes from Denver Int'l Airport and it's very golfer friendly with wide fairways, reasonable roughs and big greens in near perfect condition.
The course opened in 1996 and seems to get a nice mix of locals and visitors. It's five tee box choices range from that monster 7,411 yds from the Blacks down to 5,227 yds from the Reds.
Hole #2 offers a risk/reward birdie opportunity with water skirting the left side of this par 5 links style hole.
Hole #4 gave me trouble again as it has on my previous visits. It's a rather long and often windy par 3 with a stream on the right and a big bunker on the left. See photo.
Holes #17 and #18 are a par 3 and 5 combo that provide a great finish to your round at Buffalo Run. #17 is a downhill one-shotter with a pond left of the green. #18 is a blind shot par 5 also with water left on the approach. See photo with clubhouse, pond, rock wall and green.
Next time I have a group of visiting golfers flying in to Denver we'll try to play Buffalo Run first. It's friendly.

Buffalo Run is well run. Paul Hebinck and his staff run a very clean, effecient and well maintained golf course and pro shop.
Will Panella handles tounament coordination. The Bison Grill is a very good bar/restaurant with a great, sunny patio for enjoying food and drink before or after your round at friendly Buffalo Run.
