On our first visit to Splashway, we brought our five grandkids and stayed in one of the cabins. They loved sleeping together in the loft! After arriving, it only took them a couple of minutes to get into their bathing suits and start running toward the entrance of the water park where we spent the entire day enjoying all of the rides. Part of what makes Splashway special is that the vast majority of the rides can be enjoyed by all ages and there are lots of slides and things for the very young kids.
We rented a cabana - a great way to go! - which had a table and chairs, lounge beach chairs, a safe, a call box to order food and drinks, and a wait staff that was very attentive! A really fun day at Splashway Waterpark and Campground.
After the park closed we drove 20 minutes to Columbus and enjoyed a great meal at Nancy's Steakhouse - good steaks, a salad bar, and reasonable prices.
The following day, the kids ran us ragged going from one activity to the next - I should have rented a golf cart. We played volleyball, shot some hoops, rented a kayak, played 18 holes of putt-putt, and while they played laser tag, I took a short nap. Following that we all enjoyed some Blue Bell ice cream and sleep like a log.
On a more recent visit, we camped in site C14 - well shaded and a great view of the lake. Enjoyed the waterpark for one day and played two different nine-hole golf courses. Read our review of Weimar Golf Club and Eagle Lake Golf Course - both about 15 minutes away.

Sheridan is kind of out in the middle of nowhere - but that doesn't matter, you came here to camp and enjoy the waterpark! The waterpark and all of the fun amenities at Splashway are enough to keep you busy for several days.
Columbus and Hallettsville are each about 20 minutes away but neither is loaded with lots of fun things to see and do. There are a few 9 hole golf courses around - see this golf map to find one.
Shiner and the Shiner Bock Brewery are only 30 minutes away. Within an hour's drive you can find lots to see and do.
