Review of Southern Comfort RV Resort in Weslaco

Southern Comfort RV Resort in Weslaco is one of several Encore & Thousand Trails RV parks spread throughout Texas and one of the 10 Rio Grande Valley RV Resorts – here is a link to find their other Texas RV Parks.

Southern Comfort RV Resort has 493 sites and is very popular with winter Texans because of all the events, activities, and resort amenities within the Resort. The sites are a mixture of RV sites and Park Models for sale and rent.

The roads throughout the Resort are paved and lighted and the Resort is well maintained and manicured. Southern Comfort RV Resort is about a mile and a half from interstate 83, the main thoroughfare through the valley. Southern Comfort RV Resort is clean and well maintained

In the center of the park is the Rec Hall, pool, and all of the amenities, which are easy to walk to from anywhere in the park. Common mode of transportation is bikes and golf carts.

Part of what makes staying here fun is that the staff, residents, winter Texans, and visitors are very active, outgoing, and friendly.

Typical Day:

We stayed at Southern Comfort RV Resort as a part of a trip to escape the north Texas cold weather and to play some golf. The Valley is home to some great courses and here is our list of the Rio Grande Valley's Best Golf Courses with contains a rating and review of each of the courses we've played.

Between rounds of golf, we enjoyed some live entertainment, a jam session, a game of shuffleboard, and some pool at the Resort. We hated to have to leave and start heading back toward Dallas.

Near By:

One of the advantages of staying at Southern Comfort RV Resort is that they have enough activities and things to do to keep you busy every day from dawn to midnight.

But if you do need to escape the Resort, you'll find lots to see and do nearby from attractions to the beach to golf to museums and zoos. Here is a site that has a good list of what to do in the Rio Grande Valley.
