Review of Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch in Alto New Mexico
Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch opened in August 2015 and it's the only class A luxury RV resort in New Mexico – and it's outstanding with wide level sites tucked under towering pine trees and scenic views from every site plus a growing list of amenities. Located on 45 acres of rolling mountain terrain, Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch has 29 pull-in full hook-up sites.
Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch has smooth paved roads and easy access for big rigs to get into any of the sites, all of which are pull ins with stunning views. The entrance is gated, the terrain is gently rolling and treed, and the scenery is magnificent.
Alto is about 10 minutes outside of Ruidoso which has lots to see and do. The owners are Texans, very friendly, outgoing, and want to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They have plans to add more amenities in the very near future. The pictures in this review were taken when the Ranch was still under construction and the landscaping was not completed.

Unfortunately, when we visited Ruidoso, the Ranch wasn't open so we couldn't stay here. We did visit with the owners and take a tour of this fantastic new RV Resort.
We stayed in Ruidoso for 4 days as a part of a vacation to escape the 105 degree weather in Texas and we had a blast. Click on this Ruidoso Vacation Article to read about our stay in Ruidoso where we ate and drank too much, listened to some great music, sampled the local craft beer and played dominos, chased a golf ball all over 3 different golf courses, zipped down the mountain, and lost some money at the casino and race track.
Alto and Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch are close to lots of fun things to see and do, some that we can recommend include:
- Ski Apache has one of the longest (over a mile) and fastest (55 to 60 miles an hour) zip tours in the US or you walk or ride the gondola to the top of the mountain and then walk or ride back down - you can rent or take mountain bikes on the gondola for a thrilling ride down any of several trails
- the twists and turns and sharp switchback drive up to Ski Apache at 11,489' is breathtaking with views for miles
- Ruidoso is home to some excellent golf courses and Rainmakers (rated by Golf Digest as one of the best in New Mexico) is minutes away
- Billy the Kid Casino and Ruidoso Downs (for horse racing) is where you can win or loose a fortune
- Inn of the Mountain Gods has a dual zip line across the lake, kayak rentals, a casino, great restaurant, and fantastic golf course
- you'll find live music at several places in Ruidoso, some of which include Sacred Grounds, Grace O'Malley's, Billy the Kid Casino, and Win Place Show
- Ruidoso has lots of good restaurants from small local restaurants serving New Mexican cuisine to upscale steak and seafood restaurants
- the brew pubs like Rio Grande Grill & Tap Room or the Hidden Tap Room both have flights of local beer to sample
- if you like hiking or biking you have lots of excellent choices
- close to Rainmakers is the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts which has great entertainment
- and there is shopping, wineries, horseback riding, museums, motor scoter rentals, art galleries, and lots more to do
