Pilot Knoll Park is a city-run campground, day-use area and boat ramp on Lake Lewisville in Highland Village, Texas. The campground area is covered in oak trees, is very pretty and well maintained. It’s not a huge campground, covering the end of one small peninsula, and when you’re driving in it looks crowded but they’ve done a great job maximizing the layout. When you’re in your spot there is plenty of room, especially if you’re in one of the many shorefront spots.
This is a water-focused campground. If you like to kayak, fish or boat then it's a great place to enjoy the lake. There are hiking trails but they are more of a suburban experience – a small trail hooks up with a larger equestrian trail, so you could potentially hike for miles outside of the park.
Near By:
There is lots of shopping close by in the Highland Village / Flower Mound area. Groceries are less than 10 minutes away, movie theater, and so on. You have to cross the interstate to get to boat-up restaurants, but there are several around Lewisville and Frisco.
