Review and Rating of Camelot Village RV Park in Lubbock
Located on the southwest side of Lubbock, Camelot Village is a perfect place to plant the RV if you want to explore Lubbock and the surrounding area or check on how your kids at doing at Texas Tech. Camelot has easy access to the freeway that goes around the city as well as one that heads to the University, downtown, and the entertainment district.
The Park is very clean and well maintained and has a mixture of pull through sites and back-in sites, all of which are full hook-up. The majority of the 193 sites are for full timers and monthly renters but there are 10 pull through sites reserved for daily use. Tents are not allowed.
The roads and sites are all paved and it’s easy for big rigs to maneuver in and out of their site. There is limited shade provided by a scattering of trees. The staff is friendly, helpful, and out to make sure your stay is enjoyable.
We stopped at Camelot Village RV Park to break up the tip home after spending 10 days of fun in New Mexico. We got in late that night and were too tired from the previous 10 days to do anything. However, the next day we played golf at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech – wow, what a spectacular golf course that’s got a fantastic links style layout, excellent conditions, reasonable rates, and some very fun and challenging holes. Following golf and a dip in the pool, we headed to the Depot – one of the entertainment districts of Lubbock and close to the University. We enjoyed a great steak and salad and some good music at Triple J Chophouse and Brew Company. The singer, I missed his name, played a good guitar and sang a little bit of everything from Buddy Holly (after all, Lubbock is his home town) to Bob Wills to the Beatles to Billy Joe Shaver to Neil Diamond. Triple J is also a brewery and it was fun sampling some of their craft beers.
From there we walked across the street for some live music at The Blue Light but didn’t stay long – we’re not big fans of blues. So we headed around the corner to another bar but they had a jazz band – again, we’re not big fans. You would think that in Lubbock it would be easy to find some country or at least some Buddy Holly – maybe on the weekends!
The next day we had to finish the drive back home to Austin.
