Located in Mercedes and a couple miles off of the freeway, Llano Grande Lake Park is in what's considered the mid-valley which means it's conveniently located and has easy access to anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley.

Voted Park of the Year by Texas Recreational Vehicle Association in 2010 Llano Grande Lake Park Resort is a haven for winter Texans thanks to the warm weather, good sites, friendly people, convenient location, and lots of amenities.

Llano Grande Lake Park is a 55+ active adult gated community that is huge with a mixture of RV sites, park models, cottages, apartments, and mobile homes that are available for a short vacation, winter home, or year round living.

The roads are paved as are the sites and it's easy to maneuver in and out of the long pull throughs. The Park is very clean, well maintained, and landscaped with towering palms and a wide variety of plants and fauna.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and out to make sure your visit is memorable.

Typical Day:

We love to golf, so first thing on our agenda is to find and play a course and there are lots of good ones in the area - see this Rio Grande Valley Golf Map to locate a course and read our reviews of some of the Best Rio Grande Golf Courses.

We haven't been here enough or for an extended stay to find and enjoy other things to do outside of the Park besides golf, but we have played table tennis, shot a game of pool, played some tennis, and enjoyed a dip in the pool and hot tub and a warm greeting by all of our neighbors, most of whom are winter Texans from the frozen north.

Llano Grande Lake Park and Country Club is conveniently located to lots to see and do in the Rio Grande Valley. You'll find a birding center, lots of museums and historical sites, shopping, good restaurants, and more. The Llano Grande Park website has a page of things to do in the area.

You can take a trip into Mexico or head south about an hour to South Padre Island, the beaches, and all the fun stuff it has to offer.
