Review and Rating of Sandollar Resort Motel and RV Park
Sandollar Resort Motel and RV Park has full hook-up RV sites, a motel, and several amenities. One end of the Park is across the street from Aransas Bay and the Park has easy access to a fishing pier, marina, and restaurant and bar on Aransas Bay.
The entrance to the Park is on on the main drag (highway 35) that goes to Rockport or east toward Houston and the back end of the park terminates at Fulton Beach Drive and Aransas Bay making it convenient to get to all that the the Fulton Rockport areahas to offer: restaurants, golf, biking, sandy beaches, shopping, fishing, attractions, and more. See this map of Rockport/Fulton to find more things to see and do.
The Park and facilities are a little dated but clean and well maintained. The roads are paved but lots of trees with some long hanging branches and some tight turns make it a little tight for big rigs to maneuver.
Service is good and friendly. During the winter the park is pretty full with winter Texas from all over the north and they are also very friendly, social, and outgoing.
One of the things we really like about Sandollar are all the trees, greenbelt areas, amenities, and easy access to fun things to do.

First priority when we get to Fulton and Rockport is to enjoy some of the local restaurants for fresh seafood, drinks, and a view of water. Some of the choices include Moon Dog, Oyster House (across the street from Sandollar Resort and right on the water), and Paradise Key Dockside Bar & Grill.
Typically we'll bike to Moon Dog or Charlotte Plumbers Seafare Restaurant for lunch or dinner and depending on the energy level and wind we'll bike farther along Fulton Beach Drive which runs along the water of Aransas Bay.
High energy bike rides (half the time we drive and then bike) will take us all the way to the Rockport Harbor area for biking around the marina, some time on a nice beach, and a visit to the Maritime Museum, marina, the information center, and the Rockport Aquarium.
We also love playing golf and we've enjoyed Rockport Country Club, which is private but has reciprocal rights - here is a link to our review of Rockport Country Club. Port Aransas has one of the best courses in Texas - Palmilla Beach Golf Club is a fantastic links style course. Check out our review of Palmilla Beach. Here is our link to some other good courses in the Corpus Christi Area.
We keep coming back to the Fulton Rockport area because the weather is great year round, the restaurants are good, and there is lots to see and do, some of which includes:
- birdwatching and birdwatching tours by boat
- some of the best fishing you'll find in Texas and plenty of fishing guides
- some good beaches
- lots of hiking and biking trails
- kayak and boat rentals
Here is a list of 51 things to see and do in the Rockport/Fulton area. Check out our Rockport/Fulton Map to find some of the above and more.
