Cedar Ridge Park is a very nice park that sits on a small bluff in a protected cove on the east side of Lake Belton. The park has two campground areas with 68 with water and electric and 8 screened shelters.
The park is easy to get to, all the roads are paved and it's easy to maneuver the big rigs. None of the sites are directly on the water but its a short two minute downhill walk to the shoreline for swimming or fishing.
Access to the park as well as each of the camping areas is gated. The terrain is gently rolling and covered wtih mesquite trees and plenty of deer.
We love to come to Cedar Ridge Park for pure camping - enjoying the view, cool weather in November, and a roaring fire with stories and s'mores. Short hikes with the kids along the shore line and skipping rocks or a longer hike through the trees on the nature trail is always fun.
During the summer, boating on Lake Belton is always enjoyable. There are a few home sitting majestically on the tall bluffs, scenic coves, and lots of small arms where you can find some good water for skiing, tubing, or boarding. Here is a link to a map of Belton Lake.
A walk down to Pier 36 Marina to check the funky houseboats is a good way to pass some free time.
Near By:
Waco is about an hour north and Austin is an hour south of Cedar Ridge Park - and both are loaded with fun things to see and do. Temple and Belton are within 20 minutes from your campsite and both have some restaurants, shops, and more. Temple has a pretty good golf course.
