Profile
From our perspective, Lakeside RV Resort & Marina has the potential to become one of the best RV parks in Texas. When new management purchased the park a couple years ago, they basically leveled what was there and started over. The park was still a work in progress when we visited in September 2009, but the basic infrastructure (paved roads and sites, marina, restaurant, bar, pool, and bathrooms) was completed. Future plans include further improvements, mores RV sites, and cabins/cottages for rent.
This 29 acre RV park has over a half a mile of shoreline, good amenities, is very clean and well maintained, and is next to highway 190 providing easy access to other things to see and do. The sites are located on a hill that gently rises from the water, meaning that almost every site has an excellent view of the lake and sunset. The roads are paved but really big rigs might find some sites a little difficult to get into. Service was good and the staff is very friendly. If you are looking for a lakeside RV park, it will be hard to beat Lakeside RV Park & Marina.

When we visit Lakeside, we have:
- explored the local area or attend some local events like Livingston Trade Days
- attended a great two day music festival called Crawfish & Cowboys
- played golf at Cape Royale, Raven Nest, and Livingston Golf Course - see this map to find a nearby golf course
- checked out a couple of the local restaurants - Jerry's is ok
-
enjoyed the lake and all that it has to offer - here is a Map of Lake Livingston
Lakeside RV Park is adjacent to highway 190 meaning you have easy access for shopping or exploring the area. Livingston is about 10 miles down the road and Huntsville is about 30 miles east - both have several things to see and do. We hear that there are a few nearby local bars and restaurants, although we haven't tried any of them.
We did play golf at Cape Royale Golf Course and really enjoyed it - fun, scenic, challenging, and lots of variety. To learn more read our review of Cape Royale. To lean more about the lake read our review of Lake Livingston.
