We like to start the day by finding a cove with some calm water for skiing. After that we'll cruise by the beautiful homes in Bentwater which is on the west shore almost directly across from Park on the Lake, then head to a cove to swim and watch the Bentwater golfers try to par some of the challenging water holes (don't park to near the shore or you may end up with a golf ball in the boat), and finally end up at Papa's Ice House which is at the west end of the dam and a fun and lively spot for drinks, appetizers or dinner, and live music.
We also like to borrow the Park's volleyball net, crochet set, or horseshoes and round up some campers for some fun in the sun on the Park's activities field. And of course, a camping weekend isn't complete without a round of washers and ladder golf - you can purchase this fun game on Texas Outside's Games Merchandise Page.
One of the advantages of staying at Park on the Lake is that it is conveniently located to lots of fun things to see and do. You can spend the day antique shopping in Old Town Spring or Old Town Montgomery. The kids will enjoy Splashtown USA in Spring. There are plenty of restaurants (Vernon's Kountry Katfish, Hyden's Seafood Restraurant, Giovanni's Continental Cuisine, or lots of BBQ or TexMex choices) and some fun nightlife (The Corner Pub Sports Bar, Johnny B Daltons, or Bob Wills Jr Danceland). Visit the Lake Conroe Website for more details and information or the staff at the Park can make some recommendations.
