Possum Kingdom is a favorite Texas Outside Lake and a formal review with pictures and more detail will be finished in the later part of 2007. Located on an oak and cedar tree covered hilltop vista overlooking one of the prettiest, clearest, and blue water lakes in Texas is Possum Kingdom State Park. The park encompasses 1500 acres in the Palo Pinto mountain range and the Brazos River Valley and is on the southwestern shore of Possum Kingdom Lake.
Possum Kingdom lake is excellent for cruising, skiing, fishing, or swimming. Boat over to Hell's Gate - head toward the dam and you can't miss it on your starboard side. Great sight-seeing in this party cove. Further on towards the dam are some magnificent cliffs and smooth water for skiing/boarding.
Hike or bike the two miles of winding trails that traditionally have lots of wildlife including deer, turkey, raccoons, and possums.

Play golf at The Cliffs at Possum Kingdom for an excellent round of golf.
