The Golf Club @ The Resort

The Golf Club @ The Resort is what courses should aspire to be when they grow up! The Resort scores very high on our list of criteria – great condition, lots of variety, very scenic, challenging, and fun to play. The course isn't that long at 6626 from the tips, but it's got plenty of challenges that require excellent course management and good club selection – the slope from the tips is 144! You will most likely use most of your clubs and you'll be rewarded for your shot making skills rather than your long drives. The course underwent a significant redesign in 2006 by Mike Hoelzer, a PGA professional and Mike is right on when he states: "one of the great aspects of The Resort is that you never have to hit a shot you can't physically hit." The course is fair to all skill levels.

The course was completely redesigned in 2006 to take better advantage of the beautiful rolling terrain, live oaks, creeks and ponds. The Resort offers golfers plenty of variety including narrow tree lined fairways, lots of dog legs, some blind shots, a couple wide open fairways, tight well protected greens, water hazards, high cut rough, water features, elevated greens and tee boxes, and lots more.

When we played in August, the fairways and greens were in very good condition. The greens are a little smaller than normal with minor slope and some undulation. They seemed true and about normal speed. A majority of the approach shots are very challenging due to the small, irregular shaped greens, and the bunkers and water protecting the green.

The Resort is one of those courses that you never want your round to end (even if you're not shooting well) and when it does end, you can't wait to get back. Add this one to your must play list!
