As of May 2010, Pecan Hollow was closed for renovation and may not reopen for at least a year.
Pecan Hollow is owned by the City of Plano and is typical of most muni courses — OK condition, low prices, and limited character. You could see the flag from every hole and most of the holes looked like the one you just played. Most of the holes are straight, flat, and relatively open with little to no trouble (water, traps, or trees), which means you should be able to score well. The fairways were aerated when we played but seemed like they were in fair shape as were the greens. The greens had some undulation creating some challenging putting. A couple holes were fun with a blind shot over a creek and another that had an approach shot that required good club selection and course management. Overall, this is a very friendly course and a good value.
