Mansfield National is a $10 million project which is owned in a joint venture by the City of Mansfield and Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited. This is a very nice track that is a good value, in very good condition, and a layout that will cater to any level of play. Water comes into play on four holes and there are 28 greenside and fairway bunkers (with great sand) plus numerous grass and waste bunkers which can present a challenge. All of the The greens are large, undulating, and in good condition. The front nine is straight with some side-by-side holes and it is very open and flat with little character and variety – which means you should score well on this nine if you can avoid the fairway bunkers. The back nine is much prettier with oaks, evergreens, cedar elm, hackberry and mesquite trees; has more variety: and presents more challenges than the front nine. Low Branch Creek meanders across the back nine and a four-acre lake can catch your ball on a couple holes. If you're looking for a good course, good value, and one that won't cause undue frustration (except for the very tough par 3, hole #5), than you need to try Mansfield National.
