In 2006 the Dallas Morning News rated Texas Star as #4 in their Top 25 Best Daily Fee Courses. Texas Star is an outstanding course that is in excellent condition, very well maintained, has lots of trees and is very pretty. Although there is not a lot of variety on this gently rolling hills course, it is still a course worth playing. If you keep the ball out of the roughs, which can be some real trouble, you should score well and have fun. At $45 to $75 for weekends Texas Star is not a bargain – their excellent ratings help them command a high price. Some of the ratings include: Dallas Morning News (#1 course in DFW), Golf Digest (4 Stars), T& L Golf (top 10 in Texas, DFW's highest rated course), Golfweek (ranked #14 in Country and #1 in Texas), Avid Golfer rated (11-03) it #9 of the Best Public Courses and #4 of the Best Clubs with Green Fees over $60 and #1 Best Municipal Golf Course and #1 best 19th hole and #3 of Best Bentgrass Greens
