Biking in Texas - bike trails, events, clubs, and more

Live.Play.Enjoy.....Pedal Texas!

Let’s escape the traffic and congestion of the cities – pedal your way into the woods or along the miles of Texas back roads; exercise your way up some tough hills and coast down the backside; circle the lakes or follow the creeks; but most importantly, take in Texas’s extraordinary variety of scenery as you go.  Bike Texas! On this page you will find Texas bike trails, bike clubs, biking events, and lots of other good information on biking in Texas.

offers athletes an easy-to-read display, ergonomic wristband, and integrated GPS sensor that provides precise speed, distance, and pace data. It’s compact, lightweight, and waterproof—and packed with features for today’s serious competitor.

There are hundreds of cool places to bike in Texas, but the Texas Hill Country offers some of the best biking in the United States.  There are miles of empty roads with rolling terrain that cuts through ranches and farms with wildflowers, gnarled trees, rugged rocks, wild and domestic animals and beautiful views. Mountain bike trails are plentiful and offer a world of fun for bicyclists of all ages and experience levels – from mountain bike maniacs to six-year-old kids and seventy-year young grandparents.

The intent of this section is to tell you about some of those rides and trails to help you choose your next destination.  We’ll provide an overview of the ride and give you our biased review and rating.  You’ll also find some links to other bike clubs, biking resources, biking merchandise and gear, and more.

We are rapidly trying to expand the content and links of the Biking in Texas section and we would love your help.  Please email us with your favorite places to ride (you can’t keep them all to yourself forever!); your opinions, reviews, and pictures; or some of the websites you really like.  We appreciate your help.

Some great biking can be found in Texas State Parks.  Texas State Parks offer paved beginner tails as well as some of the most fun and technically challenging mountain bike trails in the State.  If you are planning on biking in one of the State Parks, you should check out the Parks and Camping section of Texas Outside – if we have recently visited the Park, you will find Texas Outside’s very biased (but informative) review of the Park and it’s trails as well as other fun things to do in or near the State Park.  A lot of the Thank God for Weekends trip reviews also include information on biking and other outdoor activities.
